Water Colour Pecils
Today my dad and I were drawing. I had some fun playing with the new water colour pencils I got for Christmas. With not much surprise you'll see that I drew a tree.

Crayon Art
As you may know, I really like rainbows... Like a lot! So I saw this thing on the internet. Hot glue a bunch of crayons (sans paper sleeves) onto a painted canvas. You can use a bigger canvas and a whole box of crayons but I only had this one.
Then take a heat gun or hair dryer to the crayons. Prop up one end so the drips are a bit more controlled.
To get the drips layered you can let it cool and do some more.

Hello... Nice to see you again!
I really don't have any excuses so i'm just going to try and get back into the swing of things. It's rather pathetic how I am with my posting. I post a vlog every week on YouTube, you'd think I'd be able to do the same with this blog. So we'll see if I can post something every Thursday.
To kick things off I would like to show you this painting I made for my brother's newly redone bedroom. It's basically the exact same as a project I did last year for art class.
Next week I'll post some pictures of my new (well not so new now) craft corner!

Plastic Wrap Book Mark
For the background of this bookmark i saw a really cool technique on Youtube. Basically you paint the paper with some watered down acrylic paints then, while it's still wet, lay some plastic wrap on it then scrunch it up a little bit so it's not totally flat. Leave it to dry completely, pull off the plastic wrap and you get this really cool affect.
I also stamped some... (i guess you could call them flowers) on it, adding mini rhinestones on the bigger ones.

Button bracelet
I made this button bracelet awhile ago. Sorry I'm only getting around to posting it now but now that exams and school are over I have a lot more time. I could say that I would post more but I won't make any promises. I have all these things i want to do this summer, but who knows if i really will. I want to write more... maybe. I want to keep the craft corner clean... doubt it. I want to finish my novel... possibly. I want to windsurf.... probably not. SO who knows what will happen.

Thread buttons onto thread... well, that's about it. LOL
More Pom Poms
I had a going away party for a friend the other day. I didn't really do any decorating but i did make these decorative Pom Poms. The kinda remind me of bath scrunchies.

Bookmark
I made this bookmark for the book I'm reading now, Going Bovine by Libba Bray. I cut a piece of kraft card stock 1 1/2 by 4 1/2 then stamped a wood grain onto it. I glued on some pink flowers and added some glossy accents to the centers as well as a few little dots. I then punched a hole and added some ribbon.

Spring Card
Finally Spring is coming and the snow is melting! (I probably just jinxed it now) Anyway I made this card to put in an Easter gift. I thought it was pretty spring like.
1. used masking tape to make a boarder around the card
2. stamp/ emboss with clear powder a good grain stamp
3. use distress ink over the embossing it will leave a resisted effect
4. peel off tape
5. cover butterfly shape chip board with paper
6. layer the smaller butterfly on top of the bigger
7. Use glossy accents to make it shiny
8. cut a bunch of circles from pattern paper
9. layer them and attach with brad
10. scrunch up the paper circles to make it more dimensional
11. Attach flower and butterfly to card
12.use marker to add detail

4. emboss also with gold embossing powder
5. tie ribbon around it

Back?
I'm back from my little crafting vacation and I'm going to start posting again but I think a little less regularly. I think I'll do like 4 or 5 posts a week. I might do less but I'll be sure to do at least 2. Anyway I'm also coming back from another "real" vacation to Quebec with my French class. I had tons of fun and we went to the Albert Gilles Copper Museum. We got a little tour which was really cool. Albert Gilles made the large copper doors for the Saint Anne Basilica in Quebec City and also did work for Walt Disney. He even made 50 silver pieces telling the story of Christ. Website: http://www.albertgilles-copper-art.com/
We also got to participate in a little workshop where we created our own little copper piece.
It got a little banged up in my suit case :( but I'm still pretty proud of it. it's nothing compared to the amazing things they do at the museum and I really appreciate what they do considering how hard it is. Basically the process of making what I did was to:
1. take a drawing and lay it on top of the copper sheet
2. take the "pointy" tool and trace the picture
3. remove picture and flip the metal over
4. using the "pointy" tool, draw lines slightly in from the others so create a little gap
5. with the "flat" tool push the most inner shape out to make it 3-D on the front side
(it's really hard to push it out a lot, just saying)
6. With the "really flat" tool, on the front side smooth the metal around the image

I'm going to take a little crafting vacation. We'll see when I get back but I'm not really feeling it lately. Quality over Quantity right?

CATS?
#59
So today I was stumped for ideas so I asked my friends. They replied with, you should make a statue out of cats. I knew of coarse they were joking but i proceeded to give them a rather odd look and say, "Any other ideas?" They said how about a statue of hamsters. Deciding to play along I say, "and how might i go about attacking them... hot glue?" They said of course and that I shouldn't try to return them after because the pet store people might think I'm crazy. So after all that I still don't have an idea so here are some of my art sketch book drawing from school.

COMPLEMENTARY COLOURS.
Sorry it's sideways.

(LOTS OF BUTTONS) I used a glue gun to attach them. it look forever but I think it looks really cool.

Diet Coke Art
#57
So there was some leftover cokes from my moms party. I decided to alter one off the leftovers. After washing the can I cut three sides of a rectangle into the side. I then painted it white. After letting it dry I scratch off bits to reveal the can a little. I used alcohol ink to drip colour on the side. I glued a flower to the front with a button center.
I alcohol inked the tabby thing on the top.
I also glued some buttons to the side. To keep the door shut I used my crop-a-dile to punch two holes to thread the yarn through.
Now... what to put into it????

Tree Card :)
#56
100 POSTS!
Today I made this card. The background is made by using a straw to blow around dabs of watered down paint. Then I drew on the tree because we all know I love trees :)I added some paper to look like a little wall in front. I also rounded the top two corners. Nothing special but i really like the background.

March
#54
Sorry I didn't put anything up yesterday but I wasn't in a very creative mood. I'm working on altering this calendar so here is March. I started by painting it white to cover up the picture and then added some green swirls. I painted March 2011 on a piece of card stock and then out lined the square with some more paint. Then I added a flower also of the same orange colour and made a little frame of card stock.

We Were Kicked Out
#51
Sorry this is late... =P
My mom is part of a Bunco group and it was her turn to host... she kicked me and my brother out of the house so we went to the movies. Anyway there was no time to craft and i was helping my mom get ready. I put the drinks into the bucket... aren't those mini cokes cute?I took a picture of the flowers cuz i thought they looked pretty. Now I wish it was spring. It's like -25 C.
I put the candy into little bowls but my favorite part is the leftovers.

Sunday Randomness
#50
Today I've just been doing randomness. AND LOTS OF MATH HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did manage to do come crafting. For example the card above.
1. Fold card stock
2. cut piece of green paper
3. Stamp green paper with dot stamp
4. glue on purple buttons
5. glue green piece to white base
6. poke holes around green piece
7. Stamp CELEBRATE
I also made this "Tim Holtz" Flower. I do have another post on it though so I won't go into too much detail. If you are like me and don't have a sizzix there is a flower on accent essentials for the cricut that makes a great substitution. For the pattern I started with some white card stock and stamped a green wood grain. I then brushed on some water to make it fade a bit.
I dabbed on some glossy accents to make it look like drops of dew.

Altered Paint Brush Holder
#49
SUPER SIMPLE
My mom was cleaning out her bathroom and found an old toothbrush holder. She asked me if I wanted it and I of coarse said yes.
I used mode-podge to collage some pieces of sewing patterns to the toothbrush holder. After it dried I used some green water colour paint to give it some colour then added another layer of mod-podge.
